Tactile surfaces provide an important service to the visually impaired. These products are used specifically to provide directional or hazard warning support. Research has determined that visually impaired people can reliably detect, distinguish and remember a number of different tactile paving surfaces and the distinct meanings assigned to them.
These surfaces can be anodized to brass, gold and multiple colours to suit their environment and can be found on the edges of stairs, zebra crossings and train stations.
Facility Flooring has provided a range of tactile surfaces across Ireland in large stadiums, swimming pools and in other local amenities.
